OtherWise / Muun Viisautta gallery festival
Wed-Sun 7.–11.9.2022
Yö Galleria, Lönnrotinkatu 33, Helsinki
Wed–Fri 14-20, Sat 12–20, Sun 12–17

Gallery festival OtherWise / Muun viisautta is a joint exhibition of eleven performance artists combining installations, performances, lectures, conversations and a celebration of their newly published book, Otherwise-Muun Viisautta.

The book is a gathering of eleven artistic perspectives, and art practices. It uncovers eleven different kinds of entanglements with the world and showcases eleven artistic ways to interact, to inhabit and move with(in) our critical times and catastrophic places. For five days the writings and pictures in the book spread through the space as installations, performances, discussions and performative gestures. The festival wildly and seriously celebrates the power of artistic thought and action: Art lives on, leaves traces, takes action, works and observes, touches, reaches and keeps on building a more multi-sensory and multilingual world.

This festival is an invitation to come and spend some time with us and our book, join crucial artistic/ethical conversations and take part in the celebration of Other’s wisdom.
